There are thousands of dogs euthanized each day. Many of them are young or in their prime years and are of great health, quality & willingness to learn and are fully capable of providing limitless love to their adoptive owners but are not given that chance due to shelters overcrowding, over breeding, being misunderstood by uneducated humans, and other reasons for re-homing at no fault of their own. 

If you happen to find a dog that steals your heart from the very first picture, but is not local to you, it may be a great excuse to plan a road trip!

Many of these Humane Societies work closely with dog rescues who do amazing work and may be able to help with transportation services as well.

Please do your research on the breed you are planning to adopt.
